About the Course
Great apps don't just work — they feel right. Design It Yourself teaches school students the art and logic behind UI design using Figma, the same tool used by designers at Google, Swiggy, and every major tech company. From typography and colour theory to wireframing, building design systems, and prototyping a complete mobile app — this course covers the full design process. Every weekend produces a real Figma asset, and by Showcase Day you'll have a clickable, tested, portfolio-ready app design to your name.
You Will be Able to Know:
How to analyse any app screen and articulate exactly what makes it work or fail
The principles behind great visual design: hierarchy, contrast, alignment, and repetition
How to build a personal brand style tile — typography, colour palette, and spacing system
How to create reusable UI components in Figma using Variants (buttons, inputs, cards, navbars)
How to design a complete, high-fidelity mobile app — from wireframe to polished screens
How to build a clickable prototype and run a real usability test with an actual user
How to present design work as a structured case study — the format used in real design portfolios
Prerequisites:
No prior design experience required
A laptop with internet access (Figma is free and runs entirely in the browser)
An eye for detail and an interest in how apps look and feel is a plus — but not mandatory
